What is the etymology of the name "Taj Mahal"

The origins are believed to be from Urdu, Arabic and Persian, where "taj" means crown, while "mahal" is palace. Thus we have "Palace of the Crown."

The Taj Mahal was built to honour Arjumand Begum ("Mumtaz Mahal") with the latter meaning "the Crown of the Palace."
