Who had the catchphrase, "Can you eat it?"

Question #100088. Asked by ftmathieson. (Oct 09 08 3:49 PM)

Casting my mind back to my British childhood, I recall this as a regular question in the radio version of the old parlour game "Twenty Questions." Panellists had to guess an "object" by asking twenty questions: they were told only that the object was animal, vegetable or mineral. "Can you eat it?" was one of the frequent standard questions that they used. I don't think it was anyone's phrase in particular: the panellists as I remember them were Joy Adamson, Anona Winn, Jack Train and Gilbert Harding.
