    What is the Good Samaritan Law?

    		Good Samaritan laws are laws designed to protect people who go to the help of others. Their aim is to stop people hesitating to assist others for fear of later being accused of causing harm or even wrongful death.

    		Someone just got convicted of assault for protecting his sick wife from an abusive 13 year old. It doesn't seem to apply in Britain at least, police regularly tell the public to keep away and often get prosecuted for hurting the criminals.
