    What US state has never been under foreign control?

    		Wyoming appears to have been inhabited and controlled by Native Americans until the arrival of white explorers. Only US settlers claimed the land, so it has not been under the control of any foreign power.

    		It seems to me that a portion of Wyoming was a part of the Louisiana Purchase, or am I wrong? If so, part of Wyoming must have been under "foreign control".
