This magnificent string quartet ensemble formed by
Bohemian players was active for more that 40 years. It had a huge repertoire from romantic and modern composers, and made many recordings today considered exemplary by specialists, but almost forgotten by the public. Their name was taken from the founder and first violin. What was the name?

The Rosé string quartet fits the bill there. Their founder and first violinist was Arnold Rosé. They were active mainly in Vienna and also performed world premiers. Among other works they introduced for the first time to the public were Brahms' second string quintet and Shönberg's second string quartet.

Not exactly. Rose was romanian-austrian and his ensamble didn´t made many recordings. I'm thinking on another, more
modern ensamble who made recordings until the 70s.
