    Why do we get hungry?

    		Hormones known as leptin and ghrelin create hunger pangs in a person. Increased leptin levels results in reduction of hunger pangs and vice-versa. Low levels of leptin cause the release of another hormone ghrelin which is primarily responsible for creating the hunger pangs. So, ghrelin levels increase before taking food and decrease after taking food.
