    Wikipedia lists 4 possibilities; it seems no one is sure who was the last surviving soldier.

    However, none of the men listed died in 1865; there was one who died in 1866, Lemuel Cook.

    Daniel F. Bakeman (1759-1869) is named as the last surviving veteran of the American Revolution by the US Department of Veteran's Affairs.
