An underarm delivery is when a ball is bowled from under - picture holding the ball and your arm is hanging down by your leg, bring you arm back behind you and then swing thru in a downward swing and letting go as you arm is parallel to the ground - this is an underarm delivery. Feb 02 01, 3:40 AM

Instead of bowling over-arm in cricket (i.e. releasing the ball at the highest point of vertical circular motion of the arm), the ball is almost rolled flat on the ground or pitch from the lowest point of vertical circular motion of arm.
