    No. For one, there is Victoria Claflin Woodhull who ran for the U.S. presidency in 1872.
    One could also make the argument for Franklin D. Roosevelt, who was paralyzed from the waist down and had to use a wheelchair, albeit in private, as not being part of a "majority" but only in that respect.

    Former US Representative Cynthia McKinney (D-Georgia) also ran for president in 2008, representing the Green Party.
