    		Worldwide album sales for Dio have exceeded 47 million copies, according to this May 16, 2008 article.

    "...Ronnie James Dio became famous already in the 1970s when (he) had a spell as the front man of both Rainbow and Black Sabbath. Dio founded the band bearing his last name in 1982. Especially the first three albums of the band, Holy Diver (1983), The Last In Line (1984) and Sacred Heart (1985) have remained in history books, for they included so many songs that have since been labeled as classics: Rainbow In The Dark, We Rock, Holy Diver, Hungry For Heaven and Evil Eyes, among others. The worldwide album sales for Dio have exceeded 47 million copies."
