    What has Barrack Obama said about Puerto Rico?

    		In a letter addressed to the Honorable Anibal Acevedo Vila,
    Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and dated 2-12-08, the then presidential candidate Barrack Obama expressed support for the people of Puerto Rico. Specifically, he affirmed the citizenship status of its' people, supported their right to self-determination, promised to promote job creation and economic development.
    He also mentioned working to clean up the former US Navy lands in Vieques.
