How many pitchers, if any, faced both Babe Ruth and Roger Maris?

    Question #100923. Asked by david1975. (Nov 11 08 10:00 PM)

It's almost certain that no pitcher did. I did quick team-by-team scan of National League teams on Baseball-Reference.com for 1935, when Ruth finished his career with the Boston Braves.
Dutch Leonard, who was with Brooklyn that year, pitched until 1953 and he came closest to hanging on until Maris made his debut with Kansas City in 1957.
I also checked the American League rosters for 1934, Ruth's last year with the Yankees, but couldn't find anyone who lasted longer than Leonard.
