As a correction to that - he couldn't have named the British Virgin Islands. He named the Virgin Islands, later split into the (British) Virgin Islands and the Danish West Indies. The latter became the US Virgin Islands when Denmark sold them. The (British) Virgin Islands (bracket used to indicate ownership and that the word was not used) later became the British Virgin Islands. Nov 16 08, 11:26 AM
