Which three successive "Kings of France" were actually brothers and were succeeded to by a cousin of theirs, who for reasons of principle preferred to take the title "King of the French"?

    Question #101161. Asked by flem-ish. (Nov 20 08 5:15 PM)

    Jafato

The 3 brothers were: Louis XVI, Louis XVII and Charles X.
    The cousin was: Louis-Phillip I

Louis-Phillip wanted to link the monarchy to a people instead of a territory and undercut the claims of Charles X and his family to the throne.
