She cared for Timmy and a rough collie before becoming lost and recently made recordings on a vintage contraption made by a wizard, who it could be argued, made her very existence possible. How did this wizard make her existence possible?

If it weren't for Thomas Edison, June Lockhart the star of the hit '60s shows "Lassie" and "Lost in Space," as well as countless movies and TV shows, Lockhart might never have been born. It was the great inventor who introduced Lockhart's parents, who were actors, during one of his touring dealer conventions to promote his revolutionary devices. Lockhart recently recorded her memories on a turn-of-the century phonograph displayed at the Santa Monica Historical Society Museum.

At least once a year, one can catch the three of them together in the classic 1938 version of 'A Christmas Carol'
starring Reginald Owen. It's always fun to spot the very young June Lockhart as one of the Cratchit daughters. Bob and Mrs. Cratchit are played by June's real life father and mother, Gene and Kathleen Lockhart.

To dot the last i, Thomas Edison was known as 'The Wizard of Menlo Park' because he set up his first industrial research lab there in 1876.

Excellent! The Wizard of Menlo Park (New Jersey) did introduce June Lockhart's parents to each other.
"Thomas Edison introduced her parents, her ancestor is John Gibson Lockhart, author, publisher, son-in-law and biographer of Sir Walter Scott."
