The Great Conjunction or Planetary Alignment occured on May 5, 2000. On that day, seven planets--Moon, Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn (in astrological terms, the Sun and Moon are considered planets)--were aligned along their orbital paths. The best this year is late October when Venus and Mercury will be close for about 11 days. The next Great Planetary Conjunction will be between August 18 and September 20 2040, when Mars, Juiter, Saturn, Venus and Mercury all get together at various dates.
