When I saw a certain dog today, I was reminded of a phrase we used when I was at school. It was "whip it quick". In fact I think it was also used as the name of a character in a radio comedy program, possibly the Charlie Chester Show.
Anybody remember what the phrase means?

The very last definition here is the one we used at school in southern England in the 40s and 50s. To whip something was to steal it, usually in a fast but surreptitious manner.
The character "whip-it-quick" in the Charlie Chester Show on BBC raduo exhibited this tendency, in a (supposedly) funny way.
