    I hand-feed silver gulls (small seagulls) at the beach, and never see them blink. Do seagulls have eyelids?

    		Birds have 3 eyelids ~ an upper, a lower and a nicitating membrane ~ a transparent membrane that can be drawn across the eyeball for protection.
