    Where was Einstein's Theory of Relativity experimentally proved successful, and by whom?

    		Sir Arthur Eddington, British astronomer royal, measured the deviation of the Hyades cluster during an eclipse of the sun in 1919. Two locations were used to measure this, Sobral in Brazil and the island of Principe, West Africa.

    Some years later, it was put to Eddington that only three people understood the theory of relativity, to which he modestly replied that he could not think who the third person might be.
