What are Alpacas commonly mistaken as?

Llamas. The Alpaca is a member of the camelid family. They come from South America and are raised for their luxurious fleece. They are on average around 36" at the withers and weigh around 150 pounds. They are a smaller cousin to the llama (which they are commonly mistaken to be). They are curious and cautious all at the same time. The Alpaca is very often mistaken for a Llama.
