    		7 red, 6 white. Red stripes both top and bottom edges

    They represent the original 13 states of the union.
    They were Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island

But I remember being taught, that the 13 stripes represnt the 13 counties of Arizona.
