    		Ringo Starr replaced Stuart Sutcliffe.

    		You're right - I'm a plonker! I realised when I went off-line that I'd got it wrong. Stuart Sutcliffe played Pete Best in the film 'Backbeat' about the early days of the Beatles. Apologies for scrambled brains!

    		Scot Williams played Pete Best (who was indeed replaced by Ringo) in the movie Backbeat. Stuart Sutcliffe was an early Beatle who left the band by choice (he was not replaced) and died shortly after. He was played by Stephen Dorf in Backbeat.
