Within your American coin change, has anyone found one of the new Lincoln commerative cents?

    Question #104944. Asked by star_gazer. (Apr 22 09 11:29 AM)

Someone may certainly answer in the affirmative, since they were officially released on Feb 12th of this year and it's possible some might have started circulating. But the Federal Reserve has not released the main supply of the new pennies through the normal bank circulation channels because of the unexpected influx of old pennies from people cashing those in (due to the economy) Once the surplus of pennies has dwindled the Reserve is expected to release the new design(s) widely. The limited number of Log Cabin pennies that were released have been nabbed mostly by collectors, who are not very likely to then spend them. eBay currently has over 100 listings for people selling them, and the Mint was selling them as well though they are now sold out.

Great! On ebay I found two 2009 pennies for $1.76, add to that a 42 cent postage stamp to mail in the payment and that is just over a dollar a penny. Not bad.
