Thus far, I'm not finding feet/inches, however this speaks of his height:
He was of stature moderately tall; of a straight and equally-proportioned body, to which all his words and actions gave an unexpressible addition of comeliness.
In the days before 'off the peg', a person's actual height was only of real interest to their tailor - and before standard measures that was of no interest to another tailor who would be working to a different tape. (People who couldn't afford tailoring bought secondhand and were more interested in the price and fit of what was in the old clothes shop at the time.) It's amazing to realise that back then very little was standardised. And there wasn't the obsession some people have now with statistics. How tall is the President?
