Which person, once connected with Jane Austen, ended up as the father of five unmarried daughters?

Question #105773. Asked by Datsmeharse. (May 23 09 12:43 AM)

Mr Bennet from Pride and Prejudice, the daughters are Elizabeth, Jane, Mary, Catherine and Lydia Bennet...

All of the Bennet girls were unmarried for a time, but that was rectified in the book (to Mrs. Bennet's relief.)

I was looking for a real person intimately connected to the author, albeit for a very brief time...and his daughters remained unmarried...(don't tell Mrs. Bennet)

I'm only aware of Thomas Langlois Lefroy, whose relationship with Jane Austen was the subject of the movie "Becoming Jane", but wikipedia only mentions 3 unmarried daughters (unless he named 2 of his daughters Anthony, Thomas, Jeffry or George).

Do I at least get credit for providing non-fictional examples? ;)

The answer to this one is Harris Bigg-Wither, Austen's fiance for the night of December 2, 1802.

The best way to explain this quiz is to give an example. 'Out of Africa' + 'Sleepers'. The answer is: 'Kramer vs. Kramer'. Meryl Streep was in 'Out of Africa', and Dustin Hoffman was in 'Sleepers'. They were in 'Kramer vs. Kramer' together. Good luck!
