If a World Title passed around football (soccer) teams whenever they beat the current holder, which teams would have held it?

Question #106275. Asked by joefoxon. (Jun 12 09 5:26 AM)

Italy are the current holders of the soccer World Cup, having won in 2006.
One team that has beaten them since then is Brazil, who are also the only team to have won the World Cup more times than Italy.

In the qualifiers for the next World Cup (2010) Italy are so far unbeaten, but there may be other teams who have beaten them since 2006.

Manchester United won the Club World Cup on December 21, 2008, defeating LDU Quito 2-1.

Manchester would've then lost the title 4 matches later on 7 January, when Derby County defeated them 1-0 in the Carling Cup.

This weekend is known as "giant killing weekend" in the UK as it's the third round of the F.A. Cup where little known teams from lowly leagues are drawn against some of the major football teams, and have been known to beat them - such as this weekend when Exeter City held Manchester United to a draw at Old Trafford.
