Charles Darwin. In a British experiment, it was found that plants grow better when read to by women than men. "The plant that grew the most had been listening to Sarah Darwin, great-great-granddaughter of Charles, reading his revolutionary work. Her plant grew 1.6cm (almost two thirds of an inch) higher than the most successful of the two control plants."

Yay! The Royal Horticultural Society aren't usually given to flights of fancy, but did an experiment that might cause some problems for vegans. Well, if talking to your food encourages it..... On the other hand, music (especially classical) seems to work better. Let's hope that this doesn't lead to banks of loudspeakers in every field.
