Over the last few millions of years the Earth has had quite a few impacts from meteors, asteroids, and maybe even peices of comets. Scientists have confirmed 172 locations on the Earth determined to be "impact structures". (http://www.gearthblog.com/blog/archives/2005/10/meteor_craters.html) It's interesting to note that our planet has been bombarded with meteorites since, and during, it's formation. But the Earth's atmosphere and weather system is like a cleaning system and literally 'hoovers' up the mess, through erosion, so we'll never really be able to truely estimate how many times the Earth has been hit.
