The Great Chicago Fire, started in a shed at the home of Patrick and Catherine O'Leary.

Their son, James Patrick O'Leary, evidently semi-owned Chicago and its police. He was a major gambling figure.
"Despite numerous raids by police, he was only found guilty of gambling once during his thirty year career. There was a perception that O'Leary, along with gambling bosses Mont Tennes and "Hot Stove" Jimmy Quinn, controlled the Chicago Police."

You were on fire to have got Thomas Becket's Dad Gilbert, Mayor of London, but 1087 would have been a bit early for him. If you read your link again you'll see it was one of the "great fires" of the 1130s this time.
