Do you mean Rabat, the capital of Morocco?

That's for you to think about.

Rabat is an anagram of ' a brat'.
Rabat[sic] is an anagram of 'basic rat'.

Watchkeeper I think is right.
It is used after a word that looks unusual or incorrect to show that it has been reproduced verbatim from the quoted original and is not a transcription error.
For example, you are saying rabat[sic]. I think you may mean:
"Rabbit" but since you said/typed "rabat", if I were to copy word for word what you say I would put rabat[sic].
Like if you used a sentence " Silly rabat[sic], trix are for kids"
