When was the zipper invented and by whom?

    Question #107115. Asked by 29CoveRoad. (Jul 16 09 5:51 AM)

    Prison

Many "zippers" were invented but tended to have major design flaws, such as Elias Howe's version created in 1851. The zipper was more of an invention that was added to over time, culminating in Gideon Sundback's model, created in 1914. His version was the first without any acute design errors and used the "interlocking teeth" model.
