According to the 1991 Kinsey Institute New Report on Sex, a passionate kiss burns 6.4 calories per minute (compared with 11.2 calories burned per minute jogging on a treadmill, ho-hum.) Other sites estimated that kissing burned 1 calorie per minute, so it will take anywhere from 4 to 26 minutes to kiss away the calories of that one Hershey Kiss. Now, if that kissing should lead to another activity, which it sometimes does, you could burn between 3 and 12 calories per minute, depending on your weight and the level of enthusiasm, averaging about 100 calories per instance.
