What kind of pudding would be spoiled by 'over-egging' it?

Question #107277. Asked by davejacobs. (Jul 21 09 1:28 PM)

Whether or not it is the origin of the term "over-egging the pudding," plum pudding or Christmas pudding (or really any dessert that calls for eggs) could surely fall victim to an over-saturation of eggs.

Not just desserts - a Yorkshire pudding's consistency would be dramatically changed by too many eggs!
