    What is the difference between a white lie and a fib?

    		White lies are used to avoid offending people, often avoiding realistic implications of the truth.

    Example: That dress looks pretty on you.

    Fibs are merely childish/insignificant lies.

    Example: I didn't take the cookie from the cookie jar! It was Steve!
