What is the most geographically stable area in Canada?

    Question #107373. Asked by george48. (Jul 24 09 1:44 PM)

Aaah, a question about my "home and Native land".

I can't confirm that Kelowna, British Columbia is *the* most geographically stable area in Canada but I can suggest that it has less earthquakes, power outages or weather related interruptions than anywhere else in North America.

Although I've been an expat for a few years I'm proud to say it's my Home and Native Land too, eh.

As shown on the map, Canada is one of the most geographically stable regions in the world. There are a few areas with a heavy concentration of earthquakes such as the west coast. It looks like Northern Saskatchewan or the southern part of the Northwest Territories are about as far from any quake activity as you can get.
