The orbits of Pluto and Neptune cross. Is there a danger that they might collide?

    Question #107374. Asked by star_gazer. (Jul 24 09 2:29 PM)

    Prison

Potentially, since Pluto's orbit is erratic. However, they will never collide if Pluto maintains its present orbit.

Although over a long period of time, as Prison shares, anything in our Solar System is theoretically possible; as things stand now, Pluto and Neptune are not headed for a crash because of Orbital resonance.
