Bugs Bunny was created by Text Avery. For the first few episodes he didn't have a name. Tex wanted to call him Jack E Rabbit, but someone else came up with the name Bugs Bunny and this became his official name. So his original name was in fact 'Bugs Bunny'. http://www.spacejam.com/cmp/lineup/bugs.html
