    		The Battle of Culloden, in northern Scotland.

    It took place in 1745 and pitted one branch of the royal family (the Stuarts, backed by the Jacobite forces) against the other (the Hanovers, backed by the Government forces).

    The Government won.

    		Many would count the Falkland Islands as British soil. This war occured on these desolate islands in 1982.
