    Chervil, an excellent companion plant for radishes, lettuce and broccoli, is said to keep aphids off lettuce and to deter slugs.

    Comfrey, which is beneficial to avocado and most other fruit trees, is said to be a good trap for slugs.

    Rue, a companion for roses, fruits (in particular figs), raspberries and lavender, deters aphids, fish moths, flea beetle, onion maggot, slugs, snails, flies and Japanese beetles in roses and raspberries. But keep it away from cucumbers, cabbage, basil and sage,

    Yay RB! Companion Planting it is, although some scientists insist that less anthropomorphic terms should be used for the growing of these beneficial bedfellows such as intercropping:

    Thanks LT, as my Mum is looking for natural alternatives to using slug pellets. The following link suggests that marigolds can be used, like comfrey, as a trap:
