Baptized with a name bespeaking his most passionate avocation, this great personage associated with a major revolution also participated in a gentler but no less crucial revolution. Which were the revolutions, and what was his name, his nickname, and the pen name he used when writing in the annals of the revolution in his fondest field?

You're looking for a Christian name here, obviously. (Well, he was BAPTIZED with it, and "Christian name" means "first name." It comes from pre-Christian Greek, though.)
This is simple: the revolutions were MAJOR. He didn't bear arms.

George Washington, American revolutionary & US President No 1, was a farmer in his spare time, which certainly fits his first name (George comes from Greek for farmer) and could be construed as his role in an agricultural revolution.

Can't see signs of a pen name yet, though...

Mad King George's favorite field was indeed the field. This fine man gets a bum rap by the Yankees.
I don't find all the information in the links provided, so am including one.
"His favorite pursuit, however, was farming. When Arthur Young was issuing his Annals of Agriculture, he was supplied with information by the king, under the assumed name of Mr. Ralph Robinson, relating to a farm at Petersham."
