    		On July 13, in the same year, the first Krispy Kreme doughnuts were made and sold at Vernon’s new shop in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. To this day the secret recipe is kept safe in a vault in Winston Salem.

    Recently arrived in the UK, not that I've yet come across one, are Krispy Kreme doughnuts. But as pointed out by a radio presenter they aren't crispy and only a fraction contain cream. The K spelling is simply to allow them to register it as a name as words aren't able to copyright, so it still means what it sounds like. It's a catchy name but why use one not describing the product? I'd be disappointed if I tried one and found it was nothing like it said.
