Traditional Jews may not feed their pets anything containing chametz (leaven) during Pesach (Passover). As a matter of fact, they must remove ALL chametz from their homes.
Note: Ashkenazic Jews also extend this to include rice, corn (a key ingredient in many types of pet food), peanuts and beans. This is called "kitniyot".
Chametz (and kitniyot if applicable) must either be disposed of or sold to a goyim (non-Jew), usually in a symbolic way, during Pesach. Pet's diets must be changed for the holiday or the pets themselves must be sold to a goyim then repurchased after the holiday ends.
