    		It is almost universally believed that good weather may be expected when the cat washes herself, but bad when she licks her coat against the grain.

    		Depending on the time of year, this may indicate the start of moulting, and the onset of warmer weather (at the end of winter as the warm winter coat is lost) or colder weather (at the end of summer as the new winter coat comes in).
