Superconductivity can occur in simple elements like tin and aluminium, so it can be said that superconductors are not expensive. The phenomenon of superconductivity is the complete absence of electrical resistance in materials at very low temperatures. An electric current in a superconductor loop can flow forever without any source of power. The only drawback is maintaining such low temperatures is difficult.
