    Exactly where do we find the stratosphere in the earth’s atmosphere?

    It is the second layer of the Earth's atmosphere, between the troposphere and mesosphere. It is at altitudes ranging from 8 km to 50 km, depending on the latitude.

    When re-entering the atmosphere there's a period of radio blackout. Does this occur when leaving the atmosphere, and if not, why not?

    Several years ago, I read an article about a proposal to one day establish ozone manufacturing plants on Mars. Along with other methods, and after many years, it would be part of creating a breathable atmosphere. With information about the lack of magnetism and the core no longer rotating, is this still possible? Seems the atmosphere may once again be blown away by solar winds.
