One of the explanations given to the appearance of large tracks attributed to the sasquatch is that they are created by smaller mammals that sometimes bound across a large area with all four of their paws landing adjacent to each other. Are there any North American mammals that sometimes travel this way?

Not that I know of. But the siza has also been atributed to melting and refreezing of snow to make a larger looking track. Sorry wasn't answer you were looking for but it may be useful anyway LOL.
