    Who pulled the Cowardly Lion's tail?

    		He pulled his own tail.

    Here is an excerpt from the movie script where Scarecrow sets his straight:

    Lion: I'd sooner wait outside.
    Dorothy: Why?
    Lion: Because I'm still scared. (Out of fear, he pulls on his own tail and yelps.)
    Scarecrow: What happened?
    Lion: Somebody pulled my tail.
    Scarecrow: You did it yourself.
