Princess Victoria Mary Augusta Louise Olga Pauline Claudine Agnes of Teck was also known as "Princess May".
Originally engaged to be married to Prince Albert Victor, the eldest son of the future King Edward VII and grandson of Queen Victoria, the wedding never took place due to Albert Victor's decease. After a period of mourning she married his brother, who became George V.
On the death of her son George VI in February 1952 the UK had 3 queens, Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (her daughter-in-law) and Queen Elizabeth II. This situation continued until her own decease in March 1953, before the coronation of her granddaughter.
