The only one I can think offhand is the city known today as Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, which was known until 1917 as Pressburg. Chirstiana, Sweden was changed back to Oslo in 1905 when Norway took on independence. Several nations have changed capitals, but other than those two cases I can't think of any capital cities which changed their names.

Kyrgyzstan is just over the border but renamed Frunze Bishkek in the 90s after the end of communism, Frunze being one of Lenin's henchmen, and was called Pishpek prior to 1918. I only know as someone I met told me he was from Bishkek and it wasn't on my map.

The Norwegian capital, Oslo, was called Christiania 1624-1878,
Kristiania 1878-1925. In 1925 it was renamed Oslo, which was its old historical name.
So it's not correct that it changed in 1905 when the union with Sweden was dissolved.

Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan (not really a European country, though...), also changed its name twice. It was called Astana until 1991, then Aqmola 1991-94, then again Astana from 1994. It wasn' made the official capital until 1997, when the capital was moved from Almaty (which had also had its name changed, from Alma-Ata).
