    Do you store wine in a cueva or in a cava, and what's the difference?

    Question #111171. Asked by flem-ish. (Nov 30 09 11:35 PM)

    You drink cava. You store it in a cueva.

    Cava = sparkling wine

    Cueva de vino = wine cellar

    "'Cava' redirects here. For other uses, see Cava (disambiguation).
    Sparkling wine is a wine with significant levels of carbon dioxide in it making it fizzy."

    "'Las Cuevas' (The Wine cellars), which were mentioned further above, give the restaurant its name and date back from the 18th century.

    Should have said that "cueva" simply means "cave," and "cava" can mean all sorts of things in English and who knows what-all in Italian and other languages.
